Amber Heard finally gets $7 million divorce settlement from Johnny Depp

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp are rumored to be ending their grueling divorce soon at $7 million. The actress’ lawyer confirmed that there could be resolutions this week that could finally put the whole separation fiasco to rest.

As reported by Dlisted, back in August Heard and Depp had already settled for $7 million to be divided equally and donated as charity to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and American Civil Liberties Union. However, following her announcement that the settlement fee would already be donated, Heard did not receive any money from Depp. Instead, the Pirates of the Caribbean star maintained that he would be the one to give the money directly to the chosen charities. And, everything spiraled down from there.

The Danish Girl actress demanded that Depp should not do the donation directly as he would be getting tax deductions. And, to this day, no donation was made to the charity neither did Heard receive the settlement.

Heard’s lawyer, however, hinted at a resolution before the year ends especially that Depp is obliged to pay what was agreed in the settlement. And, in turn, Heard will definitely make the donations she promised to the two charities.

Unfortunately, Herd might have violated the confidentiality agreement stipulated in the settlement following her appearance on a PSA on domestic violence to which her lawyer denies. According to him as reported in Perez Hilton, it was only Heard’s contribution to help domestic violence destroying homes and families and should not be interpreted, in any way, as having to do with her separation with Depp.

May this year, Heard and Depp, who had only been married for more than year, made headlines with their highly publicized divorce with the actress filing a restraining order against the actor for domestic abuse. During the filing, the Internet was swamped with pictures of the Magic Mike actress with a bruised face and cut lip. Since there had been no prenuptial agreement, the couple whose romance sparked in the set of Rum Diary agreed to settle.
