"Overwatch" players who have been waiting on the Oasis map since it was revealed last BlizzCon may now play it on the game's Public Test Region (PTR). The new map is described to have a lot of sand similar to that of the Arabian desserts. However, "Overwatch" players will soon learn that the map is different from the rest.
The "Overwatch" Oasis map features an endless stream of vehicles and a jump pad that serves as a new challenge that can hamper players from directly attacking the opposing team. Players who have played the game would agree that the new map is unique because the features present the constant and looming threat of being run over by traffic. Additionally, players can use the jump pad and get an unobstructed view of the map which something that hasn't been done before in "Overwatch."
Moreover, the car features can also be used by players to their advantage as this would undoubtedly have everyone change their playstyle in Oasis. Every "Overwatch" hero have different skills which they can use to lure or push opponents to incoming traffic.
According to the official "Overwatch" patch notes, Oasis can only be accessed by Windows PC players that have bought the game with Battle.net accounts that aren't banned or suspended. The patch also warns that the PTR is accessible in all areas of the world except China and would be hosted in America so non-American "Overwatch" players may experience higher latency that could result in poor plays.
"Overwatch" players have also posted on Reddit to let everyone be aware that due to the volume of PC players trying out the Oasis PTR, the servers are constantly crashing in its attempt to meet the demand. There is no official word from Blizzard as to when the "Overwatch" Oasis map will be available for PS4 and Xbox One players.
