On the 10th Anniversary of iPhone, Apple is planning to showcase iPhone 8. It is reported that Apple sought to eliminate the "S" moniker and will name its flagship model as iPhone 8.
On Monday, The Wall Street Journal narrated that Apple has asked its suppliers to escalate the production of OLED or Organic Light Emitting Displays. The Curved display is about to enter into iPhone Lineup.
As per reports, it is anticipated that the next-gen iPhone 8 will be equipped with an OLED display. Apart from ramping up the output, Apple reportedly asked its suppliers to churn out displays with higher resolutions compared to any Samsung handsets in a bid to excel in the race to the top. The report also suggested that around 10 prototypes are being considered for the upcoming iPhone 8 which will be launched on iPhone's 10th Anniversary.
On the other hand, Apple is rumored to be unveiling three models of iPhone 8 in 2017. The flagship models will have the screen size between 5.1" to 5.2" with OLED Panel and other two with LCD panels ranging between 4.7" to 5.5".

In order to fulfill the exponential production of the said OLED Displays, Samsung is being considered as the chief Partner as per the Wall Street Journal report that was released on Monday. It is believed that no another display makers are capable of producing OLED displays on the exponential scale as anticipated by Apple and hence, LG Display, Sharp, and Japan Display will go hand-in-hand to achieve the gigantic task. The Increase in production will help generate shares from Samsung's revenue in 2018.

The rumors has it that due to limited availability of OLED display globally, Apple could strive to accomplish its requirements of having OLED Panels for the upcoming flagship model which will eventually give rise to two new components that are FaceTime Camera and Touch ID Fingerprint sensor which will be embedded beneath the screen providing a seamless and true edge-to-edge front panel., AppleInsider quoted.
