Just a mere publicity stunt or a legit claim but PewDiePie is about to delete his account. PewDiePie uploaded a video on YouTube titled "Deleting My Channel at 50 Million" which came out as a shock to his subscribers and fans. PewDiePie is presently the most famous YouTubers across the globe with over 49,455,358 subscribers until the last count by as reported by Metro.
PewDiePie (real name Felix Kjellberg) is a famous YouTuber who uploaded a video stating how YouTube is trying to kill his channel. The video progresses with Felix's allegations on the YouTube video recommendation algorithm which throws random videos and fails to show videos for which the users has subscribed. He further added that he just want to quit the channel and create a new one to start fresh. If what Felix said is true, he is just half a million subscribers away from deleting his account.
PewDieDie also included in his video how Daily Vlogs attracted just a small amount of hits wherever the occasional videos were amongst the highest watched on his channel. He clearly indicates a video that attracted just about 2 million views which could be the reason he wants to quit the PewDiePie YouTube Channel.
Escalating the YouTube algorithm, PewDiePie allegedly said users are now required to follow actions even after subscribing the channel to get the updates for latest video and that the algorithm that lands the users directly to the Trending Videos page which is trying to kill his views. The similar claims were made by other YouTubers, however, YouTube tends to deny the allegation, Destructoid reported in an article.
PewDiePie appears upset in his recent video, however, it could potentially be just a publicity stunt in order to generate drives more subscribers and hits towards his channel as many reports suggests why would PewDiePie set a target of 50 million subscribers after reaching 49.5 million subscribers where he can also say bars high if he really intends to delete his account. A similar trick was played by famous social experiment YouTuber named "Coby Persin" who played a prank with his BMW which garnered more than 100 million views and he became an instant talk of the town with reports published in some of the major newspapers such as Huffington Post and major news coverage TV channels.
