NBA Trade Updates: John Wall feels being undervalued at Washington Wizards

Washington Wizards' three-time NBA All-Star John Wall continues to feel underappreciated for all his talent in the league and the upcoming CBA changes could only bolster such a perception. Could such a stifling environment only fan the flames for those ongoing trade rumors?

Wall is the Wizard's marquee player fueled by his amazing passing vision and driving ability to relentlessly score, however, he feels that his talent has been greatly undervalued by the league despite showing his basketball prowess in all three All-Star games, according to the Washington Post.

"I feel like it's amazing and crazy because I had my best year, like, two years ago, my second year [as an] all-star, I averaged 20 and 10 and was a starter but couldn't make All-NBA team," the former Kentucky Wildcat mentioned to the website.

He furthered elucidated that, "You only get those [individual honors] by winning. When I did and had an opportunity to win, I still didn't make it."

His perception could continue despite the newly agreed CBA rule. The new labor agreement will somehow favor star players which would be affecting Wall's chance to be included in the veteran exception because of all the accolades he has garnered through the years.

Wall's beef concerns the inconsistency of max contracts between players in the league especially those he deems who are not in his own league. With the new CBA contract, some players who are playing the same position in the court as him will be getting the same salary as the talented backcourt general. Wall will be having a four-year contract extension at 35 percent of the Wizards' total salary cap amount if he breaks into the next year's All-Star game. If not he will be having a 30 percent cap raise. This may be a large amount for some but not unlike those peers that Wall has played with and against in the NBA All-Star games.

With this in mind, rumor trades for Wall have continuously sprung up. Wall has continued to have a fine statistical career season despite the Wizards' ongoing turmoil of injuries, irregularities, and porous defensive structure. Add to the fact that they could be missing the playoffs again this year as the Wizards are way below .500 with .462 in win percentage and are in the 11th spot in a sluggish Eastern Conference. All these creating a situation for Wall to move out of Washington anytime soon.

It seems though that the feeling has been mutual for both management and player as reported in The Bitbag. The past two seasons for the partnership has not been moving in the right direction and having Wall on the trading plate could shoo-in multiple trades for various teams. As of the moment, there has been no mention of who these teams could be.
