Ryan Gosling Latest News: See Gosling with Harrison Ford in 'Blade Runner 2049'

In the much-awaited teaser for Blade Runner 2049 by Warner Bros., main actors Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford are given the spotlight as they meet undesirable future that is a continuation from the much discussed original 1980s film.

The more than a minute trailer shows overall Gosling as the new blade runner named Officer K who finds a secret that could further plunge the already dystopian living conditions of Earth into chaos. This leads him to seek out Ford's character who plays the Rick Deckard, who is a missing blade runner for the past thirty years and who has also been rumoured to be a replicant himself, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Replicants are like any other machine - they're either a benefit or a hazard," Ford, who's reprising his character of Deckard, explains in the footage. "If they're a benefit, it's not my problem."

"I did your job once. I was good at it," Ford tells Gosling, as he slowly comes near him with a gun in hand. "Things were simpler then," Gosling manages a rebuttal.

However, the 72-year-old Ford won't be sharing much screen time with Gosling in the film as principal photography had already begun months before the former arrived on set, according to Movie Web. This would seem to suggest Gosling will be holding the film on his own for at least some of the runtime.

The sequel is set 30 years after the events of the 1982 original from the film originally helmed by Ridley Scott. It then starred Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, and Edward James Olmos. The screenplay was based on the Philip K. Dick novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?"

For the continuing franchise, "Arrival" and "Sicario" director Denis Villeneuve is the man behind the camera with a script by Michael Green ("Logan," "Alien: Covenant") and original "Blade Runner" screenplay writer, Hampton Fancher.
