'Star Wars' actress Carrie Fisher suffered from a massive heart attack on December 23, Friday. Her mother, Debbie Reynolds, recently came forward to give an update about her daughter's health to the concerned fans.
Fisher was traveling from London to Los Angeles when she suffered a cardiac arrest, according to a report published by E! Online. A SOS call to the Los Angeles Fire Department was placed immediately and the medics arrived as soon as the flight made a landing.
An advanced life support system was provided to the actress, who played the iconic role of Princess Leia in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens.' The incident took place on Friday afternoon.
Now two days after the incident, Fisher's mother and 84-year-old actress, Reynolds, has come forward for the first time to talk about her daughter. She informed the public that Fisher is now in a stable condition and she also reassured her fans that she will update everyone if there is a change in her health.
In addition to providing Fisher's health update, she asked her fans to pray for her continuously. She even thanked them for praying hard for Fisher so far.
The actress' half-sister Joey Fisher also wrote a heartfelt message for Fisher's fans, along with a throwback picture of her with her sisters on the Christmas eve. She appreciated the incredible outpouring of love and prayers from the fans.
Meanwhile, Fisher's brother and 58-year-old producer, Todd Fisher told Eyewitness News that his sister is a strong and a tough girl who ha survived many thing so far in life. He also encouraged everyone to continue praying for his sister.
Todd further said that Fisher is receiving the best medical care possible. Fisher's condition has improved since the time of her admission into the hospital, when she critical and was immediately placed on a ventilator.
Fisher is famous for her role in the first 'Star Wars' trilogy, followed by 'Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens.'
