British singer Ed Sheeran is finally back after a year of interlude from the music industry with a promise of new album to be released within this year.
As reported by NME, Ed revealed on his Twitter that a new music is coming this Friday, January 6. On January 2, he also posted a video which hinted that his third album would be titled '÷' which follows previous records '+' and 'x' (pronounced "multiply"). The next day, January 3, the singer posted another clip that pieced the words "When I was six years old I broke my leg..." which could possibly be a lyric or a song title. He also posted a blank blue image to his Twitter, Facebook and Instagram account.
Ed Sheeran returned to social media exactly a year after withdrawing to work on his third album. This was because he wanted to focus on recording and to "travel the world and see everything I missed."
He also said at the time that he was taking a break from his phone, emails, and all social media for a while because he had started "seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes". He added "The third album is on its way and is the best thing I have made thus far. See you all next autumn, and thank you for being amazing."
Ed Sheeran has been keeping a low profile in 2016 but made the headlines on November the same year when Princess Beatrice accidentally cut his face with a sword during a star-studded party.
The 28-year-old Princess of York Beatrice grabbed the sword after James Blunt - the soldier-turned-singer - jokingly said that he would love to become a Sir. Princess Bea misjudged the weight of the blade and had no idea Sheeran was behind her. Ed, who was with her girlfriend Cherry Seaborn at the party, was rushed to the hospital for treatment to a gash under his right eye, The Sun reported.
Sheeran associate Amy Wadge, who reportedly worked on the upcoming album, said on a statement that the album is "done" and will be out "really soon".
