Halle Berry In A Hurry To Divorce Olivier Martinez, Big Sums Of Money On The Line

Just before 2016 came to a close, Halle Berry made sure her divorce from husband Olivier Martinez was finalised. Big money is involved, and if she didn't act quick, Martinez would definitely have gotten a big chunk of it.

The Oscar award-winning actress who has an estimated net worth of $70M didn't want the former boxer to have a taste of her pending deals and contracts, per Daily Mail. The legal documents of the star indicated that the juicy offers were all laid out even before they separated back in October 2015.

The Monster's Ball star started filming the indie drama Kings with Bond actor Daniel Craig in Los Angeles last week. On the other hand, Martinez last appearance on the small screen in National Geographic's Mars, a six-part docudrama.

Right now it's still uncertain if the thriller Kidnap which Berry executive-produced and starred in will ever see the light of day. It's release has been postponed three times since it's original release date in 2015. At present it's scheduled to hit US cinemas on March 10.

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez who had a prenup will have joint physical and legal custody of their three-year-old boy Maceo. However, the couple who first laid eyes on each other back in 2010 on the set of Dark Tide, is yet to agree on their property settlement.

Violent Temper

It's been reported that the Frenchman's violent temper was one of the reasons why he and Berry split. In 2015 Martinez shoved an LAX employee using a baby seat.

Interestingly, they bumped into each other in court at the same time filing for divorce. Both wanted to become the petitioner. Martinez gave way and allowed Berry to do the honors, per TMZ.
