The Avengers director has his hands full these days. He is currently working on a pilot for the Marvel Universe-themed show, "S.H.I.E.L.D." and is apparently drafting up scripts for the sequel to his 2012 blockbuster movie. At the Wednesday premiere red carpet premiere of Iron Man 3, Whedon got to talk a little about each project as well as share his opinion of the other superhero films. He did however give plenty of updates on both The Avengers 2 and "S.H.I.E.L.D."

"I've done a draft of the script," Whedon told The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet at the Iron Man 3 premiere. "To say I finished it would be overselling, but I've done a draft.  I'm feeling really good about it. I had to spend a lot of time introducing all of those characters. Now they've met, so I can just start hurting them, playing with them and having fun."

Whedon also mentioned in the interview that he is trying to introduce new characters from when he used to read the comics. He hints that there "may be a brother and sister act from back in the day" and other "particular villains" that he obviously cannot talk about yet.

Avengers star Cobie Smulders reportedly showed interest in Whedon's new television show, saying she would be interested in coming on if the pilot does well. When asked about this, Joss responded, "That's a possibility but job one is always make the show work by itself. Make it work for people who have no idea who The Avengers are, and certainly don't make it tuning in every week to see if somebody famous shows up.

"The show is about the people who don't have super powers in a super power world and it would be disingenuous to make the whole thing about whether or not you're gonna see a super hero," he added.
