Fans of Shondaland shows who have been kept in suspense by the hanging endings from the season and midseason finales may have to cool their heels for a bit more as it was announced that fresh episodes of Grey's Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder will be pushed back to another week to make way for a Donald Trump special.
The 20/20 special entitled "America's First Family: The Trumps Go to Washington" will air on January 19, and take on the original air date of the three Shondaland shows. The special is only an hour long and will run from 10 pm to 11 pm. It will be preceded by reruns of Grey's Anatomy and Scandal, reported Marie Claire.
ABC said that they decided to air repeat episodes of the two shows so that when TGIT returns on January 26, the lineup will all be fresh and exciting.
It can be recalled that in the midseason finale of How to Get Away with Murder, it was revealed that main character Wes Gibbins, played by British actor Alfie Enoch was the mystery person underneath the body bag who died in the fire at Annalise Keating's house. The reveal came as a shock to fans of the show who assumed that Wes was safe because he already appeared in earlier episodes of the season.
With the show's return, it will be revealed who among the members of the Keating Five is actually faking grief, but it is unsure if this will be enough of a clue as to who murdered Wes.
Grey's Anatomy left things with its own cliffhanger, as Alex's fate was left in the air in the midseason finale episode.
Based on the latest episode promo, there will indeed be doctors who are headed to maximum security prison with the show's return but its not Karev, and its only to treat a patient so speculations about whether or not he will land behind bars has still not yet been answered.
Meanwhile, Spoiler TV has already posted a synopsis of what to expect when Scandal returns for its sixth season.
"The election results for the presidential race between Mellie Grant and Francisco Vargas are announced, and the shocking results lead to an explosive outcome," the synopsis read.
