Xbox One wireless controllers gets two new fresh colors, and they are as simple as you can get: "Red" and "Green/Orange".
Polygon reports that the Red Xbox One gamepad features a two-tone finish that's similar to the two-tone Magma Red PlayStation 4 DualShock 4 controllers, although the primary color is a deeper shade of red than on Sony's controller. The analog sticks and all the buttons (except the Xbox button) are also in red. In addition, there are "gloss highlights" on the triggers, bumpers and D-pad, and behind the sticks.
There is also a two-tone color scheme on the Green/Orange controller; the orange appears behind the sticks as an accent color. The green color is more of an olive one, giving the gamepad a militaristic feel. Similar on the Red controllers, the triggers, bumpers and D-pad are glossy, and the sticks and buttons are the same olive color as the body of the unit.
The gamepads are the latest design of the Xbox One wireless controllers which came out alongside the Xbox One S on E3 last year. This version includes Bluetooth support that allows wireless gaming on a PC without using a USB connection. The same applies to controllers from the Xbox Design Lab, which are customizable. Microsoft's Xbox Design Lab lets you customize the color of your gamepad. The Xbox Design Lab allows for 8 million color combinations.
According to Engadget, both controllers cost $65 each. You can now buy the Red gamepad at GameStop. The "Master Chief" looking Green/Orange gamepad, on the other hand, will be available at Walmart and will be released on January 24 in the U.S. and on January 31 at selected retailers worldwide. Like all the latest Xbox One controllers, these new gamepads can also be used with Windows 10 and Samsung Gear VR.
