Gal Gadot will personify the popular DC character Wonder Woman. This is the first adaptation of the comics series that explains the intense anticipation of moviegoers since the first full trailer was released. However, the trailers did not confirm who the lead villain would be until a recent French publication dropped the bomb.
Speculations say that the latest trailer teased the viewers as to who the main villain would be. Apparently, it was Ares, the God of War.
Danny Huston is said to play the character joining Gal Gadot who plays Diana/Wonder Woman and Chris Pine who plays the role of Steve Trevor, Wonder Woman's love interest. Pine plays a World War I pilot who ended up in Themyscira.
Danny Huston's German soldier character was spotted in the movie trailer. But it was a French Publication called Studio Ciné Live, confirmed who the lead villain of Wonder Woman would be.
"Behind these scientific formulas, there is a deadly gas that could well annihilate humanity. Now, it turns out that this is precisely the goal of Ares, the god of war. He is jealous of humanity, which is a creation of his father, the deceased Zeus (he was killed by Ares when he rebelled against him, with the help of the Amazons)..." the publication said, according to Comicbook.Com.
Today, other characters have also been revealed. Connie Nielsen will play Diana's (Wonder Woman) Queen Mother Hippolyta. Lucy Davis is also a cast member as Diana's best friend. Gadot's two aunts in the film will be played by Robin Wright as General Antiope and Lisa Loven Kongsli as Menalippe.
Patty Jenkins is the director of the flick that will premiere on June 2 this year. The movie adaptation of the DC series will finally be shown after 75 years of Wonder Woman history.
With Ares as the lead villain, other antagonists are expected in the movie including Doctor Poison. Elena Ayana who was seen wearing a mask in the trailer could play the masked character from the series.
