"Saturday Night Live" has announced the last few hosts for the end of its 38th season. Zach Galifianakis is set to host next week's episode (May 4) with musical guest Of Monsters and Men, but this has been known for a few weeks. The last two episodes of this season will be hosted Kristen Wiig (May 11) and Ben Affleck (May 18). Wiig's musical guest will be Vampire weekend whereas Affleck will have the pleasure of Kanye West's company. Obviously the big news is Wiig's return to "SNL!"
Kristen Wiig left "Saturday Night Live" just one year ago and rumors of her coming back as a host have been circulating ever since. The star is set to host on May 11 and will be promoting a long list of film projects including Girl Most Likely, Despicable Me 2, Anchorman: The Legend Continues, and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Wiig spent seven years on "SNL" and introduced fans to such characters as Gilly and The Target Lady.
Recently, Wiig admitted that she felt "lost" after leaving the live comedy show. "The show was seven years of my life and a six-day work week and you're constantly with your friends all day, all night," Wiig said. "You sort of live and breathe the show. Then, when it's over, you kind of feel a little lost...it was definitely an adjustment, even just the hours and [no longer] being in New York."
Vampire Weekend will be the musical guest when Wiig hosts. Their new album Modern Vampires of the City is set for release May 14th.
A week after Wiig hosts, Ben Affleck is set to host the season finale of "Saturday Night Live." This will be Affleck's fifth time hosting and also musical guest Kanye West's fifth time appearing.
Next week, though, we will be treated to Zach Galifianakis and Of Monsters and Men!
