Honda introduced CR-V in 1997 and since 20 years it has been in the market. Now, Honda has introduced its fifth generation model which is larger, faster and more powerful. The 2017 model of one of the bestselling crossover SUV in the US market is now available in Honda stores.
The Honda CR-V 2017 model has incorporated enhancements across the board and features a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine having 190 horsepower, 179 lb.-ft. of torque. The transmission is continuously variable automatic and an all-wheel drive. NRCan rating for the new CR-V is 8.4, reports The Chronicle Herald.
The new CR-V features an excellent driver's seating position and the hood has been completely redesigned, which gives the driver a better view in the front. Honda has improved the ride and handling of the new model and it provides the confidence to the driver while maneuvering the vehicle. Honda has also improved upon the legroom, reports Forbes. The new model has 2.1-inch more rear seat legroom and the overall length of the vehicle has been increased by 1.2 inches.
Talking about the exteriors, the company has made the new vehicle more distinctive looking and upscaled the interior as well as exterior styling. The front of the SUV is now more aggressive with heavy dollop of chrome. The taillights are brazen and they seem like an evolution of the 2016 model.
Honda has taken care of the cargo space too. The 2017 model adds almost 10-inches to the already large cargo space and this makes the new model much better than its competitors. The CR-V has also improved upon ground clearance and has 38mm more ground clearance than its predecessor.
The 2017 model comes with nine speakers, 18cm display for audio and navigation, a rear-view camera, a panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control and 18-inch alloy wheels. The pricing for the base model starts from $38,000. The car is a rival to Ford's Escape and Nissan's Rogue.
