Netflix has confirmed that "Daredevil" will be coming back for a third season after Netflix rolls out its ensemble superhero series "Defenders" this year. However, it may take a while before "Daredevil" or "Jessica Jones'' new seasons return to the streaming site.
According to a report by CinemaBlend, after Netflix aired "Luke Cage" late last year to positive reviews, it will come out with "Iron Fist", "Defenders" before it proceeds with the second and third seasons of its other hit Marvel shows. A Punisher spinoff starring Jon Bernthal is also in the works after positive reception his guesting earned on Daredevil.
One thing that fans are expecting to happen in Season 3 is the entry of "Daredevil" archnemesis Bullseye into the mix.
Even lead star Charlie Cox admitted that having a faceoff with the psychotic marksman is one of the major items on his wishlist.
One of "Daredevil" major villains, The Kingpin is also expected to return although it is uncertain if it will happen in Season 3, reported ScreenGeek.
In an interview with actor Vincent D'Onofrio on Collider, the actor expressed willingness to return to the franchise and said that he loved working with Marvel because he is able to creatively collaborate with the team.
"I know he will come back, I just don't know when. I can't wait to find out. I'm totally into the Marvel stuff, big time. I want to do Marvel, all the time. I love it so much 'cause they're so creative over there. They let you bring this whole new thing to an iconic thing that they invented," he shared.
Another storyline that fans are eagerly watching out for is the romantic arc between Matt Murdoch and Karen Page.
In an interview with the Washington Post, Deborah Ann Woll, who plays Karen on the series hinted that while there is a strong possibility of a romance flourishing between the two characters, trust will become a major issue for them because they are not being completely honest with each other and hold secrets of their own, which could doom the relationship straight off the bat.
