Japan based Sony owned gaming brand "PlayStation Plus" is working on its new updates for 2017. In January, PlayStation offered some free games to the consumers. More updates and free games are expected for launch in February this year. The package includes PlayStation Plus free games for January 2017 along with interesting new updates. The news has been confirmed by the official newsblog of PlayStation Plus.

Earlier this month, the rival and main competitor of PlayStation, Valve announced free games and up to 80% discount on major gaming brands. As January approaches an end, consumers are waiting for the February package from PlayStation.

According to some reports, PlayStation free games for the month of January are "Day of Tentacle Remastered" and "This War of Mine: The Little Ones". Both games are played on PlayStation 4 (PS4). Other free games for January include The Swindle, The Blaze Rush, Titan Soul and Azkend 2.  The Blaze Rush, and The Swindle are PS3 games whereas the latter two are PS4 games.

PlayStation tweeted today many new game updates on their twitter account. PlayStation announced the availability of "Perception" on PS4. January updates and games could not satisfy consumer to the predicted extent but they hope February will be rewarding from PlayStation.

News sources reported that the separation of Japan PlayStation Network Store from the rest of Asia will affect accessibility to the free games. Several titles will remain limited to Japan only and other Asian gamers will lose the opportunity.

With the release of Gravity Rush 2 on the 20th of January this year, Gravity Rush Remastered might be lined up for the February 2017 free games list. Some predictions point to "Hotline Miami 2" as a candidate for free category. Hotline Miami 2 is about two years old. Other expected free games that are on the cards include Oxenfree, and Unravel.

Since the Launch of PlayStation 4 in February 2013, Sony has not updated the hardware for the last 4 years. Gamers must be waiting for a PlayStation 5 or even more because the console needs compatibility with new hardware updates.
