AMD's newest chip, the Ryzen CPU, is most likely the biggest competition for Intel's Kaby Lake. The rumored release of this new power-packed chip will be held on Game Developer's Conference 2017. What will be its effect once it hit the market that is now currently dominated by the Kaby Lake?

The Game Developer's Conference will happen from February 27 to March 3. AMD will be represented by Ken Mitchell and Elliot Kim in the anticipated events with their session entitled "Optimizing for AMD Ryzen CPU". This line up for GDC 2017 is making a lot of buzz about Ryzen's expected release.

According to Digital Trends, this timing is very practical for AMD. It is reported that if Ryzen is to be launched next six weeks, GDC 2017 is the best opportunity to start dissemination information and make the best out of the CPU. Ryzen is anticipated to clash head on with Intel's Kaby Lake.

There are so many things that could happen when Ryzen decided to finally stomp to Kaby Lake. Either way, difference of release dates would surely be on AMD's advantage or disadvantage. The hardest question for those who aren't Intel nor AMD fans is this, "Should I buy Kaby Lake now or wait for Ryzen?"

According to user auygurbalik in this Reddit thread, Intel may lower Kaby Lake's price after Ryzen's release, so it is better to wait for Ryzen's release. But user Psimwork answered that this is not likely to happen as Intel is known to be consistent in their prices for years now. Intel won't change the price, even if Ryzen will stomp Kaby Lake with almost half the price.

User ricketyCode from this Reddit thread reasoned out that it is really better to wait for Ryzen's release. Whether Intel will lower its chip's price or Ryzen will live up to the expectations, it is a win-win situation.

If Intel lowered its prices, one can buy Kaby Lake at a lower price. If Ryzen will be proven more powerful than Kaby Lake, then users have a better option for building their rigs. The bottomline is, "choose the poison that is right for you."

Finally, after being the King for so many years, Intel may finally find another worthy opponent in the face of AMD's Ryzen. If this clash will continue, we might see more powerful chips with cheaper price in the future as the battle for market dominance continues.
