Sony has been aggressively seeding the latest Android 7.0 Nougat to the Z5 series on January, 17. Previously, the Japan-based company has included Android 7.0 to Xperia Z and X Performance. Now, Sony has started to roll out Nougat for Xperia Z3 Plus and Z3 Plus Dual. However, Nougat hasn't launched for Z5 Compact and Z4 tablet yet. No need to fret, Sony has also prepared to expand the rollout to a much larger audience.
The update with build number 32.3.A.0.372 is said to be similar in every detail for all series of handsets. The Android 7.0 includes several new features; one of them is Android's Doze System to improve the battery life. Sony has also made an alteration to its battery saving Stamina Mode that will let you choose whether you want to prioritize on performance or standby times, accordign to blog in Xperia.
In addition, the update delivers a change to its home screen that's integrated with Google Now. A selfie camera timer has also been added in the latest update as well as messaging enhancement. To improve user experience, Android 7.0 also has split-screen functionality and multi-window support that will let users run two apps simultaneously and just double tap to switch between them.
The Nougat roadmap was leaked back in September. According to that leaked roadmap, it was said that those series will receive Nougat update by December. So, it's clear that there had been a delay in delivering the latest update. Even with a bit delay, Sony has been great to featuring Nougat for its flagship.
Thus, if you have either of the phones, make sure you get OTA notification, or if you don't, you might want to check the update manually. The Android 7.0 Nougat update's coming with pretty bulk size, presumably, more than 1 GB, so it would be better to connect to Wi-Fi first before updating.
