It was indeed a very emotional scene as Joon Jae tried to save his father by revealing the true plans of his stepmothers but his father refuse to believe him. Kang Seo Hee (Oh Yeon Ah) and Ma Dae Young's (Sung Dong Il) plans have already reached its pivotal moment and that Joon Jae evidently realized he should not have stopped persuading his father to believe the truth.
Accoring to Gosh TV, "The Legend of the Blue Sea" Episode 18 seems to tease the fans that history may indeed repeat itself. Videos have been spread like wildfire showing that Joon Jae's stepbrother is about to pull the trigger of the gun to Joon Jae when Shim Cheong run towards him to save his life. Dramatic indeed!
What is more shocking is that Joo Nam Doo (Lee Hee Joon) is revealed to be one of two people who will prevent a happily ever after for the on-screen couple. He hit Joon Jae's head on his back to kidnap him.
On the prior episode, even though Shim Cheong erased Nam Doo's memory, Nam Doo was able to accumulate bits and pieces of their conversation and was able to realize again that Shim Cheong was really a silver-tailed mermaid whose tears turn to precious pearls. Thus, as someone who longs for riches, Nam Doo may did have plans to have Shim Cheong for her pearls.
Moreover, Nam Doo and Chi-Hyun were apparently both servants in their past lives though this information is only known to Manager Nam who is currently still in bed-ridden state and unable to communicate, according to Inquistr.
Manager Nam (Choi Kwon) is shown dreaming about his life during the Joseon era. Through that dream, it was revealed that the senior conman and Joon Jae's stepbrother are both after a certain document that Kim Dam Ryeong (Joon Jae's past self) left in the care of his loyal friend. What that document is remains unknown.
