Yalu iOS 10.1.1 is the new Jailbreak tool from Luca Todesco and is the only working Jailbreak tool for the iOS 10 as of now. It supports iPhone 7, 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, 6s Plus and iPad Pro. But this tool is still in Beta, where bugs and instability are expected. Therefore, it is at users' own risk if they want to update or not.
According to Redmond Pie, prior to this update, the most stable Jailbreak tool is the Pangu's semi untetered jailbreak for iOS 9.2 to 9.3.3 and it is released way back in July last year. iOS 9.3.3 is quite outdated as it is Apple's standard to update every iPhone with the latest version possible. The latest version of Apple iOS is the iOS 10.2, which was released last December.
Forbes reported that there would be bugs and stability issues due to the tool is still in Beta. The tool at the moment has only been tested on the iPhone 7/7 Plus, 6S/6S Plus and the iPad Pro.
Also, it is in semi-untethered form, users will need to jailbreak their device again once it is rebooted. But the biggest drawback is that it is only compatible for use on iOS 10.1.1. So if one already updated to iOS 10.2, there is no way to jailbreak the device.
To get started with jailbreaking, make sure the device is on iOS 10.1.1. Download the Yalu IPA by Luca Todesco here. Users will also need a Cydia Impactor, which could be downloaded from cyndiaimpactor.com. A free Apple ID is also required. One also needs to update iTunes to the latest version and a computer that runs on macOS or Windows.
First step is to connect device to the computer via Lightning/USB Cable. Back up data first using the latest version of iTunes in case something goes wrong.
Next thing is to disable passcode or touch ID. After that, disable Find My iPhone and then launch the Cydia Impactor. Drag and drop the Yalu IPA on Cydia Impactor. Enter Apple ID when prompted and wait for Cydia Impactor to finish installing the jailbreak app.
Disconnect device from PC after the installation and then head to Settings > General > Profile(s) & Device Management or General > Device Management and hit Trust and then Trust again on the certificate used to install this jailbreak app. Launch the "mach_portal" and wait 10-15 seconds. If successful, users should be able to see Cydia on the Home Screen.
