It's already 2017 and "The Winds Of Winter" still hasn't been released yet. Recent reports claim that author George R.R. Martin is about to complete the book, thus, no more sample chapters will be unveiled. Still, fans are getting weary and some are very vocal about their disappointment for the book's delayed release.
"The Winds Of Winter" book was expected to be launched prior to Season 6 of "Game of Thrones" premiere. HBO is already filming for the seventh season and "TWOW" is still not around, per MNR Daily. There was however, some update straight from Martin himself as a reply for a fan's blog post comment.
On his blog post, everything from football to Meryl Streep's acceptance speech at the Golden Globes were discussed. Most of the fans did stay on topic but one fan didn't. Obviously anxious about the release of the book, he told G.R.R.M. that he ought to tell the fans the status of the book to tide them over while waiting. The author usually doesn't respond to such comments pertaining to the "The Winds of Winter". This time he changed his mind and threw the fan a bone.
He chided the fan for making such comments but he did say he wasn't done yet, although he's made progress. He hoped he would have finished sooner. He thinks it would be out this year. But then again, that was the same he thought last year, he added.
"Game of Thrones" Update
Meanwhile, there will be some familiar faces to look forward to in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. David Bradley is apparently back even if his character Walder Frey met his end during the Season 6 finale. He suffered a gruesome fate in the hands of Arya Stark when she slit his throat. Then again, this doesn't mean his face would be useless to Arya, per Den of Geek.
