Since the passing of Miguel Ferrer last week, fans and the entire Hollywood industry has been mourning the passing of a brilliant character actor. And now that he's gone, people are wondering how the show will say goodbye to it's beloved Owen Granger whom the actor gave life to for the past five years. But a new teaser shows that the script for Season 8 finale may be altered to pay tribute to Ferrer.
Fans' Biggest Fear Came True
For months speculations have been going around whether or not Miguel Ferrer's character in "NCIS LA" will be written off. There were rumors that he had a stroke while filming on set. Others say he'd been dealing with cancer for quite some time now. But none of these were confirmed by the showrunners nor his fellow actors per Tripped Media. And it turns out the actor had been battling with throat cancer for quite some time now.
Farewell To A Dear Friend
His fellow actors and friends at "NCIS LA" had nothing but heartfelt messages for him. Chris O'Donnell was one of the first to post an image of him and the actor on his Instagram account. He said they lost a good one today and he's very proud to call Miguel his friend. He will miss him.
LL Cool J posted a lengthy tribute on his Instagram and Twitter accounts. The two became very close after meeting his family. He described Ferrer as a "true man's man". He was glad his friend smiled and was strong until the very end. Even R. Scott Gemmill, "NCIS LA" showrunner only had praises for him. He described Miguel as a man of tremendous talent who possessed a dramatic presence onscreen.
Miguel Jose Ferrer was born in Santa Monica on Feb. 7, 1955. His mother Rosemary Clooney was a famous singer during the 1950's and his dad Jose Ferrer won an Academy Award for best actor in 1951 for the movie "Cyrano de Bergerac". He and George Clooney were first cousins per The New York Times.
