No word yet if "Girl Meets World" will be picked up by Netflix or other streaming services for a fourth season. However, Netflix is adding the beloved hit show in the list of movies and TV series to watch out for come February. In just a few days you can watch your favorite Riley and Maya moments from Season 3.
Other shows to look forward to are Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant's comedy show "Santa Clara Diet" on February 3 and "Michael Bolton's Big, Sexy Valentine's Day Special" come February 7, per SJR.
"Girl Meets World" On Disney Channel: Gone Too Soon?
Meanwhile, fans are heartbroken to find out that the underrated and underappreciated teen flick has been cancelled by Disney. However, there seems to be a glimmer of hope when showrunner and co-creator Michael Jacobs said that talks are underway for "Girl Meets World" to be picked up by other interested platforms for the fourth season.
According to Jacobs they have suspected that the third season may be the last for the show, thus, the writers made a season finale bearing the last episode. It aired on January 20 with the episode entitled "Girl Meets Goodbye". It featured a big reunion from the "Boy Meets World" cast.
Appearances included William Daniels who played Mr. Feeny, Lee Norris as Minkus, William Russ who played Aln, Betsy Randle as Amy, Will Friedle as Eric, Anthony Quinn who played Mr. Turner, Rider Strong as Shawn, Danny McNulty as Harley, and both Morgans played by Lily Nicksay and Lindsay Ridgeway per TV Series Finale.
A Coming-Of-Age Story
Viewers who loved "Boy Meets World" easily fell inlove with its spinoff. "Girl Meets World" tells the story of Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard) and Maya's (Sabrina Carpenter) friendship. Together, the girls go through all kinds of new and exciting experiences. They learn who they are and what they really want to become. The sitcom also stars Lucas Friar played by Peyton Meyers, Farkle Minuks by Corey Fogelmanis, and Auggie Matthews as August Maturo.
No one knows if there will be a fourth season for now. But with a great storyline and awesome characters in the show, it's likely other platforms will pick it up where it left off (they'd be crazy not to).
