After being eliminated in a sweep from the NBA playoffs, Los Angeles Lakers star point guard Steve Nash has more on his plate than you would think. His season is over but he is still facing some personal and legal troubles thanks to a heated child support battle with his ex-wife, Alejandra Nash.

The 39-year-old basketball star told a judge this week that he does not want or need to pay child support. He claims that his recent divorce had made his ex-wife a millionaire. Nash also says that he covers around 90 percent of the cost of his children's medical bills as well as extracurricular activities. The Lakers point guard also says he covers 82 percent of their nanny's monthly salary.

His ex-wife Alejandra reportedly makes about $300,000 a month and Nash argues that she should be able to cover the rest of the costs very easily. Steve also fears that more money through child support would lead his ex-wife to spoiling his kids with all of that extra money.

Alejandra argues that her ex-husband earns about $1 million more a month than her and that he should invest that into his children. Currently, Alejandra and the kids live in Arizona but she might be thinking about moving to Los Angeles soon. If she does make this move, the likelihood of her winning child support is raised considering California's child support laws.

Other big news that is perhaps stressing Steve Nash out a bit is his teammate Dwight Howard and his future with the Los Angeles Lakers. Though he called this past season the most frustrating of his 17-year career, Nash hopes for a positive return next season and wants Howard there, too.

"I think this is the place for him," Nash said on Monday. "He's in the prime of his career. He's got his best years ahead of him. He can play for one of the greatest franchises in sports and an amazing city. This has got to be the place for him and I'm hopeful that he sees it that way."
