Kristin Cavallari, former star of 'The Hills,' has decided to put her acting career 'on hold' in order to allow her to have more time for her new family.
Cavallari, 26, has recently settled down in Chicago with her fiance, Jay Cutler, 29, quarterback for the Chicago Bears. The couple recently became parents after having baby boy, Camden Jack, who is now 8 months old.
"I've passed on a couple of things that would have kept me here in L.A. because my fiance, Jay, has to be in Chicago, so if I was here, we would never see each other," Cavallari said in April/May issue of Coco Eco magazine, according to People Magazine. "The sacrifices we make for love..."
Cavallari continues to do designing projects while she puts her professional acting career on hold, People reports. She has a shoe line as well as a new jewelry collection.
"It's easy to get wrapped up in your career and have that be your only focus, and I want my marriage to work and last - and family comes first," Cavallari said, according to People. "The design work is great because I can do most of it from Chicago and I have so much fun with it. I love it and it all works out."
Cavallari and Cutler have a big summer wedding planned for July 13, People reports. Meanwhile, Cavallari's life has changed a great deal since she had Camden.
"I was just surprised by myself about how natural it all came to me and how very at ease and calm I was with the whole thing," she told US Weekly in October 2012. "I'm still me -- I still enjoy the same things and like the same things. I'm just an older, more mature version of myself. Where my life is heading is in such a great place. I couldn't be happier. Having a baby is just so much fun!"
Having a baby meant that things would have to change. Cavallari seems up for the challenge, however, putting her family before her career.
In an recent interview with Disfunkshion magazine she said, "It's all about him. I've turned down jobs that would have kept me in L.A. because I want to be there for him," according to US Weekly.
And, even after the baby, Cavallari still looks great.
"My dad is a big health-nut so I've always tried to be as organic as possible, but when I became pregnant I took it to a whole new level and was even more conscious of what I was putting in my body. I gained 25 pounds which is what I was supposed to gain, and since then I have been choosing more of a plant-based diet. I work out four times a week and just try to live healthy," she told People.
While expecting she kept away from red meat and she even started the plan how she was going to raise her new baby boy to live a healthy lifestyle as well.
"It was more toward the end of my pregnancy that I started thinking about the products I would be buying and using, and started reading labels," she told People. "I don't want to put anything on [Camden] which has chemicals, and so everything is organic."
She explained to People that her rule of thumb is to avoid food "if you can't pronounce the name," because chances are that means you shouldn't be eating it either.
