Microsoft's "Surface Pro" series has been one of the hottest products for mobile computing. It is a beastly tablet that provides portability and power at the same time. With the Surface Pro 5 approaching, the hype has been very high and everyone wants to get their hands on this item. But Lenovo's Miix series might be the biggest mountain that could stop the rampaging Surface Pro tsunami.
Microsoft Surface Pro, according to PCAdvisor, will likely house the 7th generation Intel Kaby Lake Core i7. It will also come with a 2K screen with 4K model available albeit expected to be more expensive. The little beast will have a 16GB or RAM powering it up. Surface Pro 5 was rumored to be the first to get a USB-C port rather than the USB 3.0 that is aboard the Surface Pro 4. Upgrades for Wi-Fi, Camera, and Bluetooth are also expected to be in the way. The price is expected to start at $899 but it is possible to go up to $2,000 depending on specs upgrades.
Lenovo Miix, on the other hand, also houses to get the 7th Gen Intel Kaby Lakie Core i7 and comes with Windows 10 Pro with the upcoming Miix 720. The tablet is expected to last 8 hours and houses a 12" QHD + (2800x1920) display. This beast also houses 16GB and 1TB PCle SDD. The Miix 720 is also expected to come with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0, Intel HD Graphics 520 and both the USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 port. The price of the Miix 720 is expected to be in the range of the earlier Miix 700 version that starts at $749.99 or $150 cheaper than the Microsoft Surface Pro 5.
On terms of performance and storage, Lenovo Miix 700 is already beating the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. With the battle between the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 an Lenovo Miix 720, the effect of the price difference in the battle of the brands will be seen soon.
