Snoop Dogg, transformed into Snoop Lion seemingly overnight. Vice Media and director Andy Capper in the film REINCARNATED documented his spiritual reawakening. Capper and the Vice team followed The Dogg Father on a one-month pilgrimage to Jamaica as he immersed himself in Rastafarian culture, smoked ounces of ganga, and recorded his twelfth studio album, Reincarnated.
In between chain smoking sacramental blunts and the occasional chalice hits, Snoop aligns himself with his inner Rastafarian, as he finds harmony in the religion and in the enlightening, peaceful messages reggae music provides, reported Limite Magazine in a film review.
Snoop puts his rebirth "on wax" in the creation of his first ever reggae album. The shift in rhythm features collaborations with Diplo, Major Lazer, and a host of musical talent including Stew Copeland (the drummer from the Police), and vocals from his wife and daughter. "I want a record that means something," Snoop said while working on Reincarnated in a recording studio in Jamaica.
