Three years after "Flappy Bird" made a big entrance into the world of mobile gaming, the hit title's creator has returned. Dong Nguyen has just unleashed a new game to frustrate fans: "Ninja Spinki Challenges!!" Instead of a bird, the player will be Spinki, a cute and tiny ninja.
Some of the most reliable gaming outlets have aired their thoughts on the latest release from Nguyen. According to Kotaku, the game is just as frustrating as "Flappy Bird." However, the challenge is bigger this time around in "Ninja Spinki Challenges!!" Instead of one challenge to conquer, players will need to accomplish six modes.
Each of the modes in "Ninja Spinki Challenges!!" will be challenging players to last for around 10 seconds. The outlet notes that trying to last for merely 10 seconds is "real hard." Spinki's space for moving around is not so huge so players will need to be careful while navigating the tiny ninja through the stages.
Pocket Gamer has also experienced playing "Ninja Spinki Challenges!!" The outlet praised Nguyen for bringing back the good, old days, when mobile gaming fans were addicted to "infuriating" titles. It also points out that the game has a similar fate to the little birdie in "Flappy Bird."
"Ninja Spinki Challenges!!" is in a way different from "Flappy Bird." The two main modes, Endless and Challenge, have some levels that players will need to complete. However, in Endless, players will be allowed to play against other fans around the world. Endless Mode is the biggest challenge for fans to test how skilled they are in navigating Spinki through the obstacles.
Nguyen delivered "Flappy Bird" to the gaming community in May 2013. The game was a huge success and was downloaded over 50 million times in as of Jan. 2014. In February of the same year, Nguyen removed the game from app stores. It remains to be seen if "Ninja Spinki Challenges!!" will have the same success and the same fate. The game is now available for downloading on Google Play and the App Store.
