Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth Headed for Splitsville? Liam 'Furious' Over Nick Jonas' Texts

Barely a month after rumors swirled that Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus got secretly married in a New Year event attended by both of their families, the rumor mill is now active with reports that the duo is on the brink of a split because of Miley's ex, Nick Jonas.

According to a report by Life and Style Magazine, Nick has been sending Miley friendly texts for weeks and Liam was furious when he found out about it. The publication cited a source as saying that Liam wanted Miley to tell Nick to back off.

While the texts were reportedly not romantic, the source hinted that Nick's move to reach out to old flames may seem fishy because he is reportedly at a point in his life that he wants to settle down. Liam is naturally unhappy over the "Jealous" singer's texts and wants the connection between Miley and Nick to stop.

It can be recalled that Miley and Nick dated way back during their Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers days with the Disney Channel back in 2006. The pair split in 2007 but in their interviews, both have shared fond memories of their time together.

"The first person I kissed was Miley Cyrus, and I kissed her outside of California Pizza Kitchen in Hollywood - very romantic. I'd just had a pizza that had onions all over it. I'm sure that my breath smelled terrible," Jonas said in an interview with US Magazine post split.

On the other hand, Miley and Liam met on the set of her 2009 film "The Last Song" and started dating in 2010. The pair got engaged in 2012 and split in 2013. After some time apart and seeing other people, the two were spotted together in Australia in January last year, sparking news that they got back together.

Prior to the texting news, Miley and Liam welcomed the new year together with their combined families in a very fun and carefree vibe that was typical of Miley. On his birthday, Miley also posted a sweet message for her beau her "favorite being ever ever ever."
