For fans waiting to see if their beloved Eleven will still be part of Netflix's 'Stranger Things" Season 2, there is some good news as child actress Millie Bobbie Brown has been cast in the latest sequel to the "Godzilla" franchise. Brown famously played the role of Eleven in the Netflix anthology series.
According to a report by Variety, Brown has been tapped to play a role in "Godzilla: King of Monsters" which will be the second film in the rebooted franchise developed by Legendary Films. The film will become part of a trilogy which will also feature another monster from the studio's roster.
"King of Monsters" is targeted for a March 22, 2019 release date while Godzilla's showdown with King Kong entitled "Godzilla vs. Kong" is set to hit theaters on May 29, 2020. Both films are being developed by Legendary and distributed by Warner Bros.
The showdown between the two monsters will not be the first time they will face off as they already faced off as early as 1962 in a Japanese feature directed by Ishiro Honda. This will however, be the first time that it will be made into a full length Hollywood movie.
Very little is known about Brown's role in the film but the young actress will definitely have no problems dealing with a challenging role given the acting skills she displayed in her television roles for "Grey's Anatomy" and "Once Upon A Time," before she landed lead roles in BBC's drama series "Intruders" where she played the role of a nine-year-old girl whose body is possessed by a serial killer. She was later cast as Eleven in "Stranger Things" wherein she played the role of a child with psychokinetic abilities. The role has earned her a nomination for the upcoming Screen Actors Guild Awards, according to Hollywood Reporter.
'Krampus' director Michael Dougherty will be helming the film while the script will be developed by Zach Shields.
