Robots have automated most of the human work and they can be guided and operated to perform a series of actions. Robots have functionalities and technologies that have made them replace humans in several industrial, military, healthcare and general purpose industries. Kawasaki "duAro" is one such robot that is designed to ease the life and lower workloads of the workers.
Kawasaki "duAro" is a dual-arm robot from Kawasaki, which has similar motions to that of human arms, and each arm works independently. Although this robot may find many useful and powerful applications, the robot is being used to apply screen protectors to smartphones. A video showing Kawasaki "duAro" applying screen protector to an Apple iPhone has emerged from Tokyo, Japan, reported Kotaku.
"DuAro" applied a screen protector to an iPhone at the Pepper World 2017, which is an exhibition in Tokyo. The "duAro" can co-exist with humans in the workplace and this robot can be taught functionality directly into the robot's configuration, reported Kawasaki. The name of the robot "duAro" is a combination of two words - dual and robot. This comes from the fact that it is a dual arm machine that can provide users with a sense of reliability and security.
"DuAro" saves space as it fits into an area occupied by a single person. Its arms are less prone to interfere with each other and they can do coordinate movements. Multiple low power motors power the robot and it comes with safety functions including collision detection, so it can be used safely in the workplace.
The video shows "duAro" putting a screen protector on an iPhone in a perfect way, eliminating any dust particles and bubbles. With this, the robots are capable of doing human work in an almost perfect way and it might soon post a threat to day-to-day jobs managed and done by humans.
