FX's new superhero series, "Legion" kicks off with a good start. The show's premiere earned a pretty decent amount of total viewers, promising another breakthrough it's going to have with incredible X-Men related plot.

According to Nielsen's Live +3 ratings, "Legion" premier has drawn 3.27 million total viewers. Still, "Legion" lands better viewers for its premiere than Tom Hardy's period drama "Taboo" with total viewers only 2.6 million, Variety reported. The superhero drama also holds the record as FX's most time-shifted debut. A lot of people have predicted that "Legion" will be one of the most entertaining shows on TV.

The core of "Legion" is David Haller (Dan Stevens), a misunderstood mutant with his massive abilities struggling with a schizophrenia diagnosis. Before the series started, the series creator, Noah Hawley has revealed that Haller is said to be the son of Professor Charles Xavier and Moira MacTaggert and will serve as a Legion once he discovers his history and true ability.

In Chapter 1, viewers have already noticed that Haller can be a powerful figure as he accidentally switched bodies with Syd Barrett. In the upcoming episode, David will learn something about his past that will eventually lead to his true identity that he, in fact, is a mutant.

In the Chapter 2 trailer of "Legion", David Haller will come to his senses and realize that he actually doesn't have schizophrenia after Melanie Bird (Jean Smart) tells him that. She then helps him to understand all of the things he's been experiencing are not caused by mental issues, but rather a manifestation of his true power. From that experience, Haller will discover his powerful telepathic skill that leads to him created a strange incident in Chapter 1.

The show stars Dan Stevens, Rachel Keller, Jean Smart, Aubrey Plaza, and Jeremie Harris. "Legion" airs on Wednesday at 10 p.m. on FX.
