Episode 12 of BBC's Doctor Who definitely has a very creepy title. "The Crimson Horror" airs tomorrow and brings the Doctor and Clara take on guest stars Dame Diana Rigg and Rachael Stirling in this Victorian era storyline. Does last week's episode, "The Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS," set up anything for this week? Also, what has been going on with the 50th Anniversary Special that airs in November 2013? Luckily, we have news covering all of this!
Some pictures of the 50th Anniversary Special set have surfaced that could show some spoilers. Thanks to Ryan Farrell, who posted some photos on his Twitter account, we have learned that this special will include the original scene where the TARDIS was first shown on television. Also, one of the first companions, Ian Chesterton, is named in another photo. Check them out here:

"The Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS" was arguably the weakest episode of this season, but it still had moments that paid off. The TARDIS is damaged when a salvage ship brings it onboard and Clara is stuck inside. The Doctor is desperate to find his companion and uses the three space salvagers to help in the search. He bluffs a self-destruct situation to pull this off.
Throughout the search we cut between the rescue team and Clara and see different areas of the TARDIS that until now have only been mentioned (the pool, the library, etc). Clara is basically just exploring the time machine and even manages to discover the Doctor's real name (WHOA!). Unfortunately she is being pursued by a mysteries creature, that we later find out is a result of the damaged TARDIS. These creepy things are actually the future results of the five people on board perishing on the TARDIS.
Thanks to changing the outcome of the future (as usual), the Doctor and Clara survive and even manage to reverse time. This is why the episode might have been a little weak. The "quick fix" of "time can be rewritten" is a fallback trope for Doctor Who. Though The Doctor talking about the TARDIS throughout the episode was very nice and sentimental.
