Netflix's mislabeled "The Seven Deadly Sins" Season 2 has begun streaming online since February 17, 2017. Fans previously learned that the streaming giant was planning to renew the show for a second season. After which they got treated to a trailer of the much-awaited return of the popular anime show. This further hyped the show but fans were disappointed to find just a four-episode OVA.
Meanwhile, this is the lowdown for "The Seven Deadly Sins" Season 2 (or OVA) based on the trailer. Princess Elizabeth retells the events of the first part of the story, as Meliodas and other knights battle it out with their adversaries. From that alone, fans can already see that not everything in Britannia is serene. Since the realm is so battle-ridden, even Elizabeth herself is unsure of its future, Comic Book wrote.
"The Seven Deadly Sins" Season 2 is supposed to be composed of 24 episodes that will show how Britannia deals with the aftermath of the first season. After Season 1, there was a four-episode special titled "The Seven Deadly Sins: Signs of Holy War". It premiered in Japan last August 28, 2016. This four-part OVA is what the streaming service currently has listed instead of the actual second season.
Fans of the show got a glimpse of what "The Seven Deadly Sins" Season 2 would hold at the end of the OVA. At the time, though, no further information was available regarding the storyline of the second part, Anime News Network shared. And now that Netflix has the show listed, fans were eager to learn more only to be disappointed.
Fans who have been awaiting "The Seven Deadly Sins" Season 2 discussed this over at Reddit. Other Redditors clarified that Netflix just mislabeled the four-episode OVA from last year. Many are also complaining about Netflix's misnomer. But there is still no news as to when the 24-episode season will actually air in Japan or even start streaming on Netflix.
