David Cassidy Has Dementia: Ex-Partridge Family Idol Confirms News

David Cassidy, former Partridge Family singer and actor says he is battling dementia, he is 66 year old. The all time famous teenage heartthrob lately revealed about his battle with dementia, he contended that the disease runs in his family, affecting both his grandfather and his mother.

As reported by the People magazine, this came into light post his performances in California, where he appeared physically unstable and failed to remember his words. David has remained a teen idol during the 1970s. His songs like "How Can I Be Sure?", "Could It Be Forever" etc have remained hits of their time. It has now been revealed that he will now not be touring as a musician, in order to focus on his health. "I was in denial, but a part of me always knew this was coming," he said.

"I want to focus on what I am, who I am and how I've been, without any distractions... I want to love. I want to enjoy life," he told the magazine. Certain videos of his performances surfaced on the social media depicted that the singer has been facing some serious health concerns. It has also come to light that the singer has been going through drinking and financial troubles over the last few months.

According to BBC, he filed for bankruptcy in 2015 and between 2010 and 2014 he was arrested three times for drunken driving. He was later ordered to rehab as part of his sentence in 2014. Considering the recent factors, he has taken the decision of not working over any of the tours for now. H also told the magazine that he wants to enjoy his life now.

As per CNN, in 2012, he spoke about the effects of dementia on his mother, actress Evelyn Ward, who died that year at the age of 89.
