Last night during the "Believe" tour's show in Istanbul, Turkey, Justin Beiber halted his show on two separate occasions in order to honor the Azan, which is the Islamic call for prayer. This action has skyrocketed the 19-year-old singer's public image, especially in the eyes of Muslim fans and even some non-fans. Usually whenever Justin does anything remotely newsworthy, Twitter erupts with comments and this instance is no exception. This time, however, the social media site is full of tweets about Justin's "respectful" move during last night's concert.
Maybe the most impressive part about Bieber's pauses is that Muslim artists do not even do this during their concerts.
Here are some examples of fans and even non-fans reacting to the Istanbul concert halts to honor the Azan:
Omg, did justin bieber really stop his concert twice in Turkey while the Adan was on??
