‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Reportedly Costs Jamie Dornan His Marriage; Movie Exceeds Expectations

“Fifty Shades Darker” stars, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, are having the
last laugh on their movie’s critics right now. After being panned, the movie is doing well beyond expectations, especially overseas. But, it may also have cost Jamie Dornan his marriage to Amelia Warner.

Since filming of the first installment of their film, “Fifty Shades of Grey" (FSOG), started, the two stars were rumored to have begun dating. Their undeniable chemistry seemed to have spilled-over real life. It is also being pointed to as the cause of Dakota Johnson’s split with Matthew Hitt. And now, the rumored romance is said to be the reason behind the marital problems of Jamie Doran.

While the “Fifty Shades Darker” stars have been denying any romance between them, what cannot be denied is their second film’s success. It has managed to rake in $277 million in ticket sales worldwide according to Deadline. It was able to take the top spot at the US box office during the February 17 weekend. So far, it has already out-performed the first film, FSOG, and still continues to dominate box offices all over the world.

“Fifty Shades Darker” was panned by critics, saying that it is even worse than FSOG. They said that it was much more difficult to watch. Meanwhile, the producers felt that Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson were not doing enough to promote the film. The male star also seemed to have been distancing himself from the movie and his Christian Grey character according to an E Online article. However, these obviously did not prevent the moviegoers from going to cinemas to watch it.

The third movie from the franchise, “Fifty Shades Freed,” will be shown in 2018. There is a good chance that it will do as well, if not better, than “Fifty Shades Darker” if the behind the scenes drama will still be there. It wouldn’t hurt it either if Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson admit that they are indeed together in real life.
