Marvel's space adventure "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" definitely has some big shoes to fill. With certain expectations already in the mindset of the audience, Christ Pratt - who plays the role of Star Lord in the film - gives a tip on how to best enjoy the second outing of the "Guardians."
Speaking to Empire, Pratt goes on record to share what to expect on "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." After saying that they can expect everything they loved on the first film, he clears his throat and rephrases. This time, he told them not to expect everything that was seen in the first movie, but do expect to be charmed, thrilled and entertained by "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", the same way the 2014 hit did.
The second outing of the "Guardians" will struggle to get along and deal with their newfound titles as saviors of the universe. Screen Rant reported that according to Jonathan Schwarts , executive producer of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", early on the film the team will separate, and part of the movie would be dedicated to their decision to return as a team or not.
Another struggle that the team, or in this case Star Lord, will face is the search for his father, played by veteran actor Kurt Russell. As revealed by Pratt, working with Russell on "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" was both humbling and exceptional. Russell will take on the role of Ego the Living Planet, a character that is yet to be seen in the trailers.
New images have also surfaced for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", with one showing Drax, the uber-literal member of the "Guardians" played by Dave Bautista, wielding a rather large firearm, along with Star Lord with his signature twin blasters. As the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" image suggest, it seems that this was taken for a very serious fight scene.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is coming to theatres on May 2017. Star Lord and the rest of the "Guardians" are set to appear on "Avengers: Infinity War" two-parter scheduled on 2018 and 2019.
