People who are fans of the Simpsons and Sigur Ros (both of them) will have something to celebrate with the upcoming season 24 finale on May 19.
As this Reykjavik newspaper points out, the band will be brought into the show via a neighbor from Iceland and may have even re-worked the iconic title theme for the episode. Google Translate puts it like this:
"The band Sigur Rós has composed music for part of the Simpsons family will be shown in the United States 19 May. The show happens at the home of one character, Carl Carlson, who is said to have roots in Iceland.
Original music Sigur Rós will have much weight on the show, but ... in addition to members of the team have been drawn into the show and will probably strut around the screen yellow color...
Then re-did the band start of stroke-Simpsons family, as Danny Elfman wrote."
The Simpsons have certainly had notable musical guests before in their 24 season run, but this selection certainly stands out as one of the strangest. If you're ready to get your post-rock on and see someone "strut around the screen yellow color" tune into Fox for the finale on Sunday May 19.
What do you think of the Simpson's decision to have Sigur Ros guest star? Are you excited for an appearance from the Icelandic band? Do people still watch The Simpsons?
