We've already got our first taste of Jessica Sanchez as Frida Romero on the set of Glee in the April 25 episode. However, Sanchez gave the world a little more insight into the character at the album launch party for Me, You & The Music. The American Idol alum spoke to FilAm about her appearance on the Fox show.
"I'm (supposed to be) a student of Indiana High School, and I'm with Hoosierdaddies and I'm in the regional competitions," Sanchez said.
"So much fun," she said. "I met Naya Rivera and all the rest of the cast, they're so amazing, so nice."
Sanchez also spoke to the publication about her recent break-up with fellow American Idol contestant DeAndre Brackensick.
"It's whatever. Nothing big. Nothing bad. So no songs dedicated to him," Sanchez said.
She also revealed her favorite song on the recently released album, the same-sex supporting "Right to Fall."
"I like the message," she said. "It's more like the gay rights thing, love is love."
Me, You & The Music dropped on April 30 and has received generally favorable reviews.
AllMusic said it "isn't the most original-sounding album, it's still one of the more efficient platforms for introducing an American Idol contestant to the charts than any we've seen before."
Yahoo! said it "contains the makings of several upbeat, awesomely fun R&B and dance crossover tracks that could each be a summer hit."
As for Glee, Sanchez has one more appearance left on the show. She will compete against the New Directions in the May 9 season finale.
