Xiaomi is facing tough competition with the likes of Oppo and Vivo who have left Xiaomi behind in terms of sales and rankings. Xiaomi will be releasing Redmi 5 soon and the leaks about the specifications of this device are doing the rounds of the internet already.
According to India Today, A 5-inch handset with Mi branding has been certified by TENNA (A Chinese Regulatory body). Redmi 5 will come in two variants and these devices will be in the mid-range category. Both the models will rock 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera. The battery under the hood will be of 4000 mAh capacity which is quite amazing as this kind of battery power is only seen in flagship devices.
Like other Xiaomi devices with massive batteries, this device will also give a long battery life so that the feature rich device can be utilized to its full potential. This device looks like the ultimate hit Xiaomi needs to beat Vivo and Oppo in the Chinese market and take back the main position for it. Both the new models will support fingerprint sensor and will boast of dual-SIM functionality. According to Gadget 360, Xiaomi has recently unveiled the Redmi Note 4X in China.
The cheaper model will have a 5-inch HD display (720 x 1280), and an octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM and 32 GB ROM and it will be expandable up to 128GB via micro SD card. The bigger model, on the other hand, will have a 5.5-inch full HD display (1920 x1080 pixels), and it will pack a deca-core processor with 3GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via the microSD card. Though everything in the leaks looks like in line with Redmi 4, the improvements are impressive and will prove a turning point for the company.
