'My Hero Academia' Season 2 Icy, Shadowy Promo Features Shoto Todoroki, Fumikage Tokoyami

"My Hero Academia" Season 2 fans, it is time to get hyped! Production and distribution company TOHO has started streaming a new TV promo for the hit anime series. The new teaser highlighted two heroes from the hero training academy, Shoto Todoroki and Fumikage Tokoyami.

Previously, TOHO released a 30-second TV spot for "My Hero Academia" Season 2 showing Izuru "Deku" Midoriya, the show's main protagonist, alongside his rival, Katsuki Bakugo. After that, another sneak peek was released featuring Ochako Uraraka and Tenya Iida. Meanwhile, the latest promo shows two heroes who also train in the hero academy with the four above-mentioned hero trainees. These are Shoto Todoroki, a hero known for his hot and cold abilities, and Fumikage Tokoyami who bears the head of a bird and the body of a human. 

The promo demonstrated how "My Hero Academia" Season 2 will be more exciting and what challenges the characters will undergo. Within those 30 seconds, loyal viewers of the hero series see Shoto Todoroki turning an ordinary spear into an icy one. TOHO also treated the fans briefly to the cold and fiery hero exhibiting his ice wall technique, according to Comic Book. There was also a brief moment showing him turn the ground into ice and Shoto Todoroki walking past what is presumably a villain encased in ice. As for Fumikage Tokoyami, viewers would see that within him exists a shadow-like entity. This being also actualize from his body at will. Furthermore, the shadow also exhibit its ability to crush enemies with one claw.

Anime News Network wrote that "My Hero Academia" Season 2 is set to begin airing on Mar. 25, 2017 in Japan. The timeslot for the anime series is 5:30 pm on both Nippon TV (NTV) and Yomiuri TV (YTV). But fans should keep in mind that the first episode will be a recap or a review of the entire first season. Still, they are likely to see beloved characters including Shoto Todoroki and Fumikage Tokoyami.

As for the staff, Kenji Nagasaki will be at the helm of "My Hero Academia" Season 2. He will be joined by Yousuke Kuroda who will write the episodes. The voice actors from the first season will be returning. That includes Yuuki Kaji as the voice of Shoto Todoroki and Yoshimasa Hosoya for Fumikage Tokoyami. Seven new names will also be added for the new characters to be introduced.
