It was nine years ago when Anna Nicole Smith stole the show at the Kentucky Derby in 2004. The famous model stole the spotlight showing up in a candy pink dress. Now, in 2013, her daughter Dannielynn has done the same at the 139th Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky Saturday. Anna Nicole Smith passed away tragically in 2007 in a high profile case, which left her newborn daughter in the custody of her father Larry Birkhead.
Smith's tragic death in 2007 resulted in an enormous amount of media attention, but over the last few years, her daughter Dannielynn has not been heard from for the most part. In fact, this is the first anyone has heard about Dannielynn in quite some time. The adorable six-year-old showed up at the famous horse race wearing traditional southern attire in a white period-style dress with red trim. Her father held her hand, while he wore a multi-colored striped jacket and straw hat. You can check out photos here.
Many in attendance were left talking about how the Smith's daughter is a spitting image of her late mother. This actually wasn't the first time Dannielynn and her father attended the Kentucky Derby, as The Daily Mail notes, the blonde six-year-old attended last year's horse race in a floral dress with flowers in her hair.
The Inquisitr notes how Smith seemed to enjoy being in the spotlight, but her daughter has been kept out of the media's attention for the most part. However, Dannielynn did reportedly just sign up to model for Guess Kids.
The winner of Saturday's Kentucky Derby was Orb led by Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey.
Dannielynn and her father weren't the only stars in attendance at Saturday's Kentucky Derby. According to The Daily Mail, other stars in attendance were former 'N Synce member Joey Fatone, Jane Seymour, and country music singer Miranda Lambert.
