‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8: New Queen Of Hell Coming In ‘The Vampire Diaries' Finale

"The Vampire Diaries" is all geared up for the biggest reunion of the characters on Stefan and Caroline's wedding day.

The trailer for the March 3 episode is aptly titled as "We're Planning a June Wedding," the most anticipated union of Stefan and Caroline, Yahoo News reported. The big day was Damon's idea to lure Katherine Pierce out in the open.

It has recently been revealed that Katherine Pierce is the newly enthroned queen of the underworld, TV Guide has learned. Reviewing back the previous episode, the Salvatore brothers just made huge mistake of making Katherine a huge threat to their existence due to Kai's shrewd schemes.

Damon was led to believe that striking Cade with the dagger will kill him along with the destruction of the entire Hell, only to find out that Cade's death means someone else is taking over the reign-Katherine. The episode ended with the revelation of Katherine's hatred against the brothers and her desire to take revenge, although it is still unknown when she will be rising from the underworld.

It seems that there are a lot of surprises that Katherine will be bringing on the ending of the "The Vampire Diaries" story, since little is yet revealed as to what she can do as the new queen of the Hell. Accordingly, aside from being summoned only by the Founder's Bell, the new queen may have other powers up her sleeve to use for her revenge.

Furthermore, promotional photos for the March 10 episode were released, with Elena being the highlight in it. In another preview that followed, Damon looks at Elena's coffin only to find out that she is not there, and a few moments later heard her voice calling him and the two locked eyes. In another spoiler, the brothers seem to have a chance to meet Elena separately. Elena's return, however, means only one thing - Bonnie's death.
