"Maze Runner: The Death Cure" is confirmed to be hitting Cinemas next year. Prior to the original release date of the film last February 17, 2017, the movie will be hitting the theatres on January 12, 2018.
Deadline reported that the sudden change of the calendar for the releasing of the movie is done to adjust to the lead actor Dylan O'Brien's accident. O'Brien suffered serious injuries while shooting for the film in Vancouver when a car stunt went awry. 20th Century Fox terminated all production when reports hit the headlines that the actor's condition becomes worse. The actor suffered a facial fracture, several scratches and concussion. The filming has been delayed for a year to let Dylan recuperate for a while.
During an interview about her new indie film "The Party," Patricia Clarkson revealed that O'Brien has already recovered from the injury and is all fit to take the taping. She said that the production is now preparing to be back on set thus all of the stars will also be back on spotlight. The actress remained tight-lipped about the plot that the story would take.
"I'm sworn to secrecy. I start soon; go to South Africa, Cape Town. You can't even print the script, it's just digital and you have to give a drop of blood [laughs]... that's all I know. It'll be fun. I love Wes [Ball]... he's fab."
Barry Pepper, the actor who plays Vince, confirmed that the production has started filming. On his Twitter post, he answered user Turb59 that the show has started filming "not long while now". He complimented Wes Ball for great script and promised that locations would be stunning.
@Turb59 Yeah not long now - @tsowlin & @WesBall have delivered a great script & locations are going to be stunning! #MazeRunner #DeathCure
