Kim Kardashian and Kanye West might ride the high horse most of the time, trying to establish themselves as A-list celebrities, but the fact that they were never invited to any of the Oscars 2017 parties proves that they still have a long way to go before they reach that status. Meanwhile, Kris Jenner might have had the chance to save face because her daughter and son-in-law did not attend the Oscars.
Kim Kardashian maybe a high-profile reality star, a well-recognized fashionista and an ambitious businesswoman, but she is still no Oscar material. This was proven when she and her rapper husband had to stay back at home and watch the Oscars on their T V screens, just like millions around the world, instead of actually being present at the event.
"Kim was hoping to go to the Vanity Fair party, or really any party," reports Unreality TV. "But she didn't receive an invitation!" This means that none of her family members were invited to the pre-party, the main event or the after-party of the Oscars 2017.
In fact, the last time Kim Kardashian went anywhere near the Oscars, was when she was invited to Elton John's Oscar party in 2014. Since then, organizers at the Oscars have never included the name of any Kardashian on their highly esteemed guest list.
However, singer John Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, who is friends with Kim, were invited to the main event of Oscars 2017. Even though Legend did not win any awards this year, he delivered a mesmerizing performance of songs from the movie "La La Land", which Legend has co-produced.
Kris Jenner, Kim's mother-cum-manager, might have been relieved when invitations to the Oscars did not turn up. This is because she made a major blunder while acting as a fashion commentator on E! Entertainment for the Oscars red carpet.
Many celebrities had shown up dressed in exquisite evening gowns with a little blue ribbon attached to their outfits, as a sign of solidarity with ACLU, which works to protect human rights. The particular cause emerged as an important theme in this year's Oscars, in the light of President Donald Trump's proposed immigration ban in the United States.
Jenner, however, did not receive the memo, nor was she aware of the connection between the blue ribbon and ACLU. Hence, she was caught off-guard when she noticed several celebrities wearing the same colored ribbon on their designer gowns, reports Refinery29.
"What is the little blue thing she has there?" asked a bewildered Jenner. Twitter blew up with memes and tweets condemning Jenner's ignorance and transforming her into a laughing stock. If Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were to attend any of the Oscar parties, they would have been pelted with questions about Jenner's goof-up for sure.
