"American Idol" season 11 champion Phillip Phillips seems to be having some more medical issues. Thanks to an announcement from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and a Twitter post by Phillips himself, we now know that his college tour has been postponed "due to doctor's orders." In the past, Phillips suffered from kidney stones and almost had to leave the singing competition last year. He is currently the reigning champion of the popular series. No word on whether he will make it to this season's finale as scheduled or not.
As is tradition with "American Idol," the previous year's winner comes on for the latest season's finale to perform. Since Phillips had to postpone the rest of his tour, it looks like he might miss this appearance. There have been no official announcements regarding his "American Idol" appearance.
This tour has been postponed due to exhaustion, dehydration and kidney favor but it does look like these missed shows will be rescheduled. Also, it looks like Phillips will be well enough in time to go on tour with John Mayer this summer starting July 6. Phillips confirmed these two stories with a tweet on his Twitter account today:
Hey guys, due to doctor's orders I have to reschedule my last tour dates. They will be rescheduled! Looking forward to seeing you on Mayer!

Phillip is no stranger to kidney issues. He almost had to drop out of the "Idol" competition and even went under the knife during the show to have a stent installed in his kidney. His father revealed that Phillip underwent 8 surgeries while filming the show to take care of a buildup of kidney stones. A few days after winning "American Idol," Phillips had to undergo a grueling 6-hour operation to reconstruct his kidney. This disallowed Phillip from taking part in the post-victory promotional activities that are traditional for the show.
Opening for Phillips on this college tour was Gin Wigmore, a singer-songwriter from New Zealand.
