Microsoft has been focusing on Windows 10 lately, giving updates after updates and fixes to improve the product's performance. Heck, Microsoft even upgraded the classic Paint app to Paint 3D. But no system is perfect and there will always be security breaches and security holes that hackers can use to infiltrate systems. And when it comes to Windows products, it has always been the Web Browsers.
According to Express, Google has found out a major security breach on Windows 10 browsers "Edge" and "Internet Explorer." It is said that this security hole has been reported by Google to Microsoft privately. The security flaw from Windows 10 could execute malicious code by using the Web Browser.
Google' sProject Zero is a group that aims to find "zero-day" vulnerabilities. It was said that this Windows 10 vulnerability has been reported by Project Zero to Microsoft November last year. And as per Google's policy, the vulnerability has been disclosed publicly after 90 days of no action from Microsoft. No other information about the security vulnerability will be disclosed until this problem has been fixed by Microsoft.
According to MS Power User, there will be a new Windows 10 feature that will tackle the problem of bloatware installation on its new update. The feature, when enabled, would make warnings that warn the user of Win32 app installation. This update is aimed for novice users to prevent them installing Win32 apps that can be used to install bloatware. It will be disabled by default on Windows 10 but it can be enabled easily.
In this update, however, there are still no known information if Microsoft has tried to fix their Edge's vulnerability. It is however advised by Google that Microsoft should fix this problem. "Zero-day" vulnerabilities are major threats to the computing world.
