Even though no one was sure how the new Korean drama series "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" would perform, it has managed to surprise critics and climb up steadily in viewership. It is being predicted that the chemistry between the characters played by actors Park Hyung Sik and Park Bo Young is the reason behind the success of the show.
Even though the show took off fairly recently, on February 24, and has only aired 4 episodes so far, people are already hailing it as the next trendsetter on Korean television. The JTBC series "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" Episode 3 has already drawn ratings as high as 6.08% nationwide, reports Soompi. In areas around the metropolitan areas in Seoul, the ratings of the show have touched an unbelievable 7% already.
The first and second episode of the show drew a modest 4.04 and 5.7 percent rating respectively. This goes to show that "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" is slowly climbing uphill when it comes to ratings, which is wonderful news for any startup drama series. The show has seen a 0.3 and 1% hike respectively when compared to the ratings of its previous episodes.
"Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" has now become the highest rated show on JTBC, beatings its predecessor, "Secret Love Affair," which brought in 5.3 percent ratings during its highest peak. If it continues to grow like this, it might just beat its biggest competitors at the moment - SBS' "My Ugly Duckling" and MBC's "I Live Alone".
Meanwhile, the showrunners are planning to cash in on the sudden surge in viewership by engaging the lead characters Min Hyuk (played by Park Hyung Sik) and Bong Soon (played by Park Bo Young) share more intimate moments together that tease at their impending union in the future. In "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" Episode 5, Min Hyuk and Bong Soon will be immersed in each other's eyes as the latter tries to tend to the former's injured arm, reports Korea Portal.
Will Min Hyuk and Bong Soon realize that they are falling for each other? "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" airs every Friday and Saturday on JTBC.
